EURECOM ranks 231 worldwide among 2,297 institutions in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, placing our graduate school and research center in digital sciences among the Top 5 institutions in France. EURECOM becomes the only institution in the French Top 5 outside the four major Paris-based university alliances.
What does the THE ranking measure?
The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings is a global university ranking, covering 2,297 universities across 118 countries and territories. The 2027 edition is based on the WUR 3.0 methodology, combining 18 performance indicators across teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook and industry. It provides a broad view of a university’s academic and research environment.

A singular model from Sophia Antipolis
Created in 1992, EURECOM is built around a Groupement d’Intérêt Économique (GIE), a joint venture model bringing together academic, industrial and institutional members. This close connection between research, education and industry is part of what makes EURECOM what it is.
Based in Sophia Antipolis on the French Riviera, we have built an international academic and research community with connections reaching far beyond France.
